In-Person Prenatal Education Series
WDG Public Health and Dufferin EarlyON have partnered to offer a FREE, in-person prenatal education series designed to help expectant parents and support partners feel confident and prepared for pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenting.
Location of sessions
Sessions will be held at Orangeville EarlyON Centre, 30 Centre Street in Orangeville, Ontario.
What you will learn
Each session covers important topics to support a healthy pregnancy and positive start to family life.

| Session 1: Pregnancy, Labour and Birth | Explore the stages of labour, types of birth and comfort techniques, and learn about the role of hormones in labour and delivery. This session offers a general overview of pregnancy with a focus on preparing for the later stages. |
| Session 2: Informed Decision-Making and | Learn how to make informed decisions during pregnancy and birth. This session also explores postpartum recovery and maternal mental health, helping parents feel more confident and supported through the early stages of parenting. |
| Session 3: Breastfeeding and Preparing for Parenting | Discuss key principles of breastfeeding, common challenges and practical tips for early parenting. While the World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months, WDG Public Health recognizes that every family’s experience is unique. |
| Session 4: Newborn Care | Learn how to read and respond to your baby’s cues, understand normal newborn sleep and practice safe sleep principles. The session also covers newborn care basics (e.g., diapering, bathing, dressing and swaddling) and topics like safe car seat use and immunizations. |
